Graduate Student, Public Policy
About
I am a PhD student in Public Policy and Administration. My research interest lies at the intersection of People, Planet and Profits. Specifically, my focus is on social enterprise, sustainable economic development, eco-capitalism and social justice. My hope is to better understand the challenges that confront individuals living in socio-economically distressed environments and therefore be part of the solution.
I propose a holistic approach via social entrepreneurship that includes a multi-sectoral, inter-agency approach to community development. Some of the questions I am interested in are: What level of collaboration between private enterprises, the public sector, and academia is necessary for successful interventions by social entrepreneurs? How do we structure interventions that are sustainable, promote lasting social capital and create economic value?
